SADIRADIUS is the trade name of the chilled ceiling developed by SADI Poliarchitettura. It works by means of metal false ceiling panels fitted with coils of copper tubes through which cold or hot water is circulated.
This turns the false ceiling into an active element that can exchange heat with the environment, enabling it to cool and heat the spaces to be air-conditioned.

| Theory of operation |
The purpose of a chilled ceiling is to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the space for its occupants, both in summer and winter.

The theory of operation is essentially based on the heat exchange effect, as follows:

Heat transmission between the radiant surface and the environment by radiation (55%) and convection (45%), a function of the difference in temperature

The helpful convection effect is a result of the natural motion of air created because of the difference in temperature between the surface of the ceiling and air in the enclosed space.

A chilled ceiling, represents a complete static-type HVAC system assuring high levels of environmental comfort.

This system fits all types of environments of any dimensions such as offices, shops, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, school rooms, airports and museums.

With it not taking up much room, it also makes an ideal solution when renovating existing buildings, whether they need an all-new HVAC system or just a system to boost the installed cooling capacity in the space because of an increase in internal loads owing to people, lights or computer equipment.
